The theme for this year's program "Unarmed Truth:" The Blueprint for Lasting Change" hosted on January 17, 2011 at the Concordia University. Gwen Cannon introduces the keynote speaker Robin Hickman is President of SoulTouch, a Saint Paul Independent TV/Film Producer, Social Impact Activist and Community Engagement consultant.

A bill to adopt the federal holiday in Minnesota was introduced to the Minnesota Legislature by Rep. Randolph Staten. The measure was signed into law in January 1986. Council on Black Minnesotans Chairman Lester Collins clarifies record about community controversy in Staten as keynote speaker. Watch: news clip.

Snow didn't stop - two Twin Cities ministries led out financial giving to HOPE For HAITI Benefit Concert

(GMSNewsChannel.com) February 11, 2010 - Schools closed early, buses & traffic slowed, while weather forecasted snow storm. There were the few who braved it all to support the Twin Cities HOPE For HAITI Benefit Concert sponsored by James Grear & Co., GarearCo Productions and One Way Entertainment. Minnesota Teen Challenge pledges 10% tithe of its $112,000 Haiti Teen Challenge efforts; Sr. Pastor Steve Daniels Jr & Shiloh Baptist Church donate $6,000. Total dollars raised will be forthcoming. Bishop Norman L. Wagner died Saturday at age 68, longtime pastor of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church and past leader PAW


Bishop Norman Wagner(GMSNewsChannel.com) YOUNGSTOWN — Bishop Norman L. Wagner, longtime pastor of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church on Oak Hill Avenue and past leader of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW), transitioned from his earthly life to glory, Saturday. He was 68.


The Youngstown native graduated from South High School and Youngstown State University before earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theology and was installed as pastor of Mount Calvary in June 1971. He went on to author several books and establish a varied ministry that brought him national recognition.


He was a guest at the White House on several occasions and In 1976, was named one of the 10 most progressive pastors in the city by The Vindicator. Mayor Jay Williams. said he was charismatic, committed and a man of intelligence and integrity.
